capacity buiding
At the January 10, 2011 Core Meeting,
members discussed the desire to seriously devote a portion of the new year's energies
toward Capacity Building.
As a concrete step in that direction, here is a new page to our website to help track our progress as we work on this important endeavor. We need everyone's love and wisdom to succeed.
We may pull back somewhat from emphasis on programming, which is going
terrifically, by the way. Starting with I Li & Liz's successful spearheading of the "Winter Social & Silent Auction." Maggie & I Li's thoughtful planning of the "Coming Home" event looking at queer Chinese history. Ryan & Dwight's sensitive but tough look at queer api relationships in "Story of My Heart."
"Capacity Building, sometimes known as Organization Development, is the attempt to influence the members of an organization to expand their candidness with each other about their views of the organization and their experience in it, and to take greater responsibility for their own actions as organization members."
